Going Beyond Carbon Efficiency
Following the GHG Protocol, our sustainability analyst mapped Green Boy’s carbon footprint across all scopes of emissions: from our company vehicle (Scope 1) and electricity usage (Scope 2), to business travel (Scope 3 GBG), transport and storage (Scope 3), and ingredient production (Scope 3).
Our greatest environmental impact comes from Scope 3 emissions, primarily transportation and purchased products. In 2025, we focused on reducing emissions at the source, achieving a 15.4% reduction in carbon intensity compared to 2024, measured as total emissions per dollar of revenue. This demonstrates our ability to grow while reducing our relative environmental impact.
This progress was driven by collaboration with our global partners, smarter logistics, and increased volumes of lower-carbon plant-based ingredients, including proteins, starches, fibers, and syrups.
Through partnerships with initiatives like Klim (regenerative agriculture), Exomad Green (biochar), and Katingan Peatland Restoration and Conservation (carbon sequestration), we continue to improve carbon efficiency across Scopes 1, 2, and 3, offsetting 119 metric tons of CO2e in 2025.
This 15% reduction marks a meaningful step forward in advancing the Plant-Based Food Reformation™ and reinforces our commitment to building a more sustainable food system.
